Hi! I’m Gloria- the mom half of Liam and Glo.
Around here, you can expect lots of special needs mom life content- mindful parenting and positive discipline. Plus- life chats, homeschooling inspo and a universal no bullshit approach to achieving harmony in mom life, relationships, self-development, and wellness.
I started to blog because I’m an over-thinker who’s always loved the challenge of organizing my thoughts and feelings into words- I like to write. Also because a million years ago- 6 actually, I accepted the reality of my life. It’s been deliberate practice ever since.
You can see how that played out in the timeline about how we got here.
This blog serves to celebrate and honor my gratitude in motherhood while exploring and nurturing my- mom minus moppet identity; good gluten-free food, and life’s joys and perspectives.
Liam is my eccentric, spirited, true love, and homie with an extra chromie. He’s the hardest working person I’ve ever known.
Liam loves running, theater, bowling, baseball, movies, and video games. He enjoys cooking and baking- mostly baking. He harbors an incredible memory and deep love for animals and trees.
The big dogs he walks all day, erryday include Autism, a slew of speech and language disorders, motor disorders, and delays- with alpha being Trisomy 13. You can find the list on the timeline previously mentioned.
After deciding to leave a dysfunctional relationship, I’m transitioning to a new phase in my life- single, working mom. I’m excited and eager to organize the words to express my thoughts and experiences on this blog.
I’m a relaxed, secular, eclectic, interest-led, unschooly-homeschooler. Thanks to shit insurance, I integrate speech, occupational, and physical therapy.
I’m a Certified Positive Parenting and Discipline parent educator and coach, as well as a Certified Kids’ Yoga, Mindfulness, and Meditation Teacher specifically trained in methods for kids with diverse needs.
Here’s my yoga site if you wanna see- TheraPlaYoga.
My professional goals include empowering discerning moms and women. Women like me, who live too close to the edge of chaos and exhaustion- to affirm, you are not alone. Live intentionally seeking less overwhelm and more enrichment.
We’re banana sandwich about all things Halloween, overly holiday-decorated houses, nature, and science. We love our routines but always ready for an adventure- sunsets and sunrises, exploring new things, practicing yoga, purposeless trips to Target, thrift stores, views of the moon, and yard sales with a lemonade stand.
Home is in Lansing, Michigan; where we live with a pit bull we call Bubba Howard, and a beta fish named George- Jorge when we’re feeling spicy.
Whether you’re here for the homeschool inspo, single mom and special needs mom lifestyle chats, parenting and discipline tips- I’m glad for your company and eager for our conversations. Leave your thoughts after posts to contribute. I value the feedback.
